CASE STUDY - 3D visualization

What is 3D visualization?

3D visualization describes the conversions of two-dimensional data to three-dimensional models for a photorealistic representation of a product and/or an environment. By means of calculated pixel color values of the high-performance computers, decisive elements such as shadows, reflections and material surfaces are represented.

3D animations are animated film sequences or single images (renderings). They make it possible to explain complicated products or processes in an easy and understandable way.

For the creation of 3D visualizations we use powerful computers with special software and render farms. The level of detail of the design and the number of keyframes are decisive for the time needed to complete the visualization.

Indispensable added value

Bringing products to life

Our 3D videos give our customers deep insights into your products, even if they don’t exist yet. Before the first series production, you can already start marketing and present the benefits of your product in detail.

Making hidden things visible

We can disassemble your product into all its individual parts using 3D animation, giving you a virtual look inside. Through tranzparency or blur effects, we direct the viewer’s gaze specifically to the essentials of your product.

Limitless possibilities

There are no limits when creating a 3D film. Therefore, we can freely and individually decide on the camera angles, textures or lighting design during the realization.

FOCUS ON THE ESSENTIAL

We visualize complex surgical techniques based on medical-scientific specifications, product visualizations or visuals. From the development of the script to the finished product, we are there to advise you and provide ideas and examples of how your project can be optimally visualized.

Advantages

  • Film tells more than 100 words
  • Film supports digital communication to the user
  • Animation focuses on essential product features
  • Ideal for products in need of explanation
  • Product enhancement through atmospheric staging
  • Technical products can be emotionally narrated and staged
  • Versatile use: High-resolution renderings for print media, websites, newsletters and presentations, trade show booths

Workflow

Briefing

The first step is an informational meeting between the client and us as the agency, during which the rough ideas and goals of the advertising campaign are discussed. Important for the media planning are: Goal, target group of the campaign, advertising media, advertising medium, time period, planned budget.

Storyboard

The storyboard is meant to depict the plot developments pictorially and is very workflow-oriented, which is why it can also give a good first impression.

Wireframe

A wireframe is a three-dimensional structure that shows the outer form of a 3D model with connected lines without material properties (textures).

The finished and approved 3D model is materialized in the next step. Here, the materials of all elements (e.g.: stainless steel, aluminum, gold, copper, oak or glass) are defined.

In order to clearly emphasize the highlights of your product and to stage them impressively, a suitable illumination of the product and the entire scene is required.

Composed

At the end all images/animations are merged together

Camera perspective

As in real video, the film is shot with a (virtual) camera. The camera is animated in all axes in the LookAt-Point or in the focal length and each individual image must be calculated. That means for example with HD25p 25 single pictures in the resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels are calculated per second and put together later to a fluent film.

Correction loop / customer feedback

After the feedback phase has been successfully completed, the final adjustments and additions as well as the mastering of the finished 3D video take place in the last step. The final changes are made to the narrator, the music and the sound effects. The colors are also intensively adjusted and the color style is fine-tuned so that the film looks like it was made in one piece. Once all the individual elements and layers have been mastered, your finished 3D video is created, final output and then made available for download on our servers.
